Stitched by hand, line by line
Generations of Indian leather artisans have kept these techniques alive. We work with them directly, so the skill in every stitch reaches you — and a fair share reaches them.

How a Hendwerkes piece is made
Four steps, hours of work, and the same hands from the first cut to the final check.
-
-
01
Cutting
Each strap is measured and cut from a single hide, following the grain so it wears evenly.
-
02
Stitching
Channels and edges are stitched with strong waxed thread — line by line, by hand.
-
03
Burnishing
Edges are sanded and burnished until they are smooth, sealed and comfortable on the shoulder.
-
04
Finishing
The Hendwerkes mark is debossed, the leather conditioned, and every piece checked before it leaves.
No two pieces are exactly alike, because each one carries the mark of the artisan who made it.
Our story
Craftsmanship deserves a global stage.
We work directly with talented Indian leather craftsmen, creating a bridge between their workshops and the global market. Every Hendwerkes product is more than just an accessory — it is a story of heritage, patience, and human touch.
