Everyday care
- Wipe with a soft, dry cloth after use to remove dust and sweat.
- Let damp leather dry naturally at room temperature — never near a heater, a hair dryer or in direct sun.
- Store it in the cotton dust bag it came in, not in plastic, so the leather can breathe.
- Keep straps and bags away from sharp edges, buckles and zips that can scratch the surface.
Conditioning
Two or three times a year — more often in very dry or hot climates — rub a small amount of a good leather conditioner into the surface with a soft cloth, let it soak in for a few minutes, then buff. Always test on a hidden spot first.
Guitar and ukulele straps
Check the strap ends and slots now and then; leather stretches slightly at first and then settles. If a strap feels stiff when new, a little conditioner on the underside softens it quickly. Never leave an instrument hanging on a strap in a hot car.
Drum bags, stick bags and laptop sleeves
Empty and air bags after a damp gig or journey. Stuff them lightly with paper while stored so they keep their shape.
Woven and jacquard inlays
Spot-clean woven or jacquard inlays with a barely damp cloth and mild soap. Do not soak, bleach or machine-wash.
Patina
Natural leather darkens, softens and picks up small marks as you use it. That patina is the story of your piece — it is what makes it yours.
